Haven't been scared off yet. Just the natural ebb and flow of work and other exciting time consuming activities. I'll try and take a look at things more closely this weekend.

...and what's your line of work Xen? :p

Xen hasn't said he wanted to be in charge... Though, since he knows whats what, and stuff... He'd be my vote.... Though if he/you guys want him to dedicate his time to programming, maybe someone else should be director? Keep things moving smoothly?

Also, what about some sorta extra bonus for stuff being done? Maybe we can all donate to a dedicated paypal account to award Xen or other programmers who finish so much code or levels of closer to finishing?

Can we get a server setup? Is it possible to maybe work first on the front end so we can have Alpha Testers while the game is still being engineered?

That's a good idea. And I'm not just saying it for exp :D

We need to get together to work out some sorta Design Plan (Xen may have something already).
What needs to be done?
The priorities?
Who's responsible?
Etc...

I would say the project needs to be split up into smaller segments and handed off to other people to code.

something like

Back end server
Client software
Player
Quests
Maps
Tavern
Encounters
The Shop
Graphics & Sound

That way, you're not shifting your mental focus from designing a communications protocol to remembering which key it was that opened the door to the Vestibule.

Is there anyone out there who can code aside from Xenther?

Re: Remaking Yserbius 2

I split the thread finally :D

Hick, I was thinking the same thing. Our Development Team was like a three-headed monster... Programming, Game Research and Art. We didn't touch on music hehe.

Re: Remaking Yserbius 2

Frankly, if it matters, music can wait! I think we need to get all the programmers we can find, to dedicate some time to this... What language is it anyway?

We need to get a server dedicated to work from off off... Get some kinda interface setup so we can work from the inside out...

Re: Remaking Yserbius 2

Is it possible to rip the MIDI's out of the offline games, or has that already been done? Music should be pretty easy unless you want to add new tracks.

Re: Remaking Yserbius 2

If it hasn't been done, I'm sure it can be done (ripped out)... The thing is though, will the online version know to look for those midi's, or will it need to be converted back to the coded version....?

Re: Remaking Yserbius 2

I've got OGG Vorbis versions of the music and sound effects from Yserbius. All my code is in C#. I have no problem leading. I might be able to locate a couple other programmers if need be.

Re: Remaking Yserbius 2

Well, I don't know any programs with C# experiance... The language itself looks like Java... Still, I'll be happy to help anyway possible... The more we have that lend us their skills, the better Xen... Call in some favors...
