Dear Friend,
Just last week, we lost 2 dear friends of POY to a terrible tragedy. They
are survived by their two children, Nicole and Anthony Whitley. Most of you
asked how you could help the children, knowing as did we, that the children
have a long and difficult road ahead of them. Thanks to the efforts of our
dear friend Roo, a trust fund has been established for the children, in the
children's name to help them through life. Because so many have asked how
they can help, I am sending you this letter with information about the trust
fund that has been established. Please be as generous as is possible and
send your assistance to...:

The trust fund

I remember this letter. I also remember asking LK if it were true or if someone was just being nasty. The fact that I could think that way really bothered me and it just underscored life online for the future. We gather here remembering the good time and some of the not so good times, but it was more like little kids playing in the sandbox. Sooner or later they grow up. Most of them are productive and many live happy lives. But there are always the few that really scare the heck out of me.

We will miss you dear Sharron. Wow, it's been so long. Your memorial, Sailing by Christopher Cross. Hope you are sailing as you wanted to be. Everytime I hear that song it reminds me of you and how the minister said this was one of your favorite songs. I know you've watched over the children and hope they are doing well.

My mind fails to recall this, but I was KOY and not POY. Maybe its just me, but I can't believe that neone wood due such a theng. If it did happen, there must have been another force wurking. Yserbi7us was strong, but strong enuff to get two adult pearents to end life with tue little ones left behind...tis tru, Yserbius made me doo strange things...butt

There was a lot more to it that had nothing to do with INN. Just happens she was on INN that night before it all happened and talked about how she was scared. She was at a friends house the night before as well and they tried to get her to stay but she wanted to get back to the kids. So the next morning when I found out, I called INN, they called the Houston authorities and that is when it was found out that she was gone.

In response to the power of Yserbius and its affect on people to commit acts of betrayal, deceit, cruelty, and apparently - murder/suicide? I never heard this story so I'm only gathering from the context that the end result of this situation was a permanent solution. - You'll find people acting out the darkside of humanity in any given situation. Don't blame the game.

<sigh> I remember this vividly. "Jesse" had sent me a tell but I was inside the canyon hunting and didn't come out. How many times I have wondered,if maybe I had stopped what I was doing, he may have talked about what was bothering him.. or perhaps I could have noticed that something was 'just not right". His last words to me were, I guess you're busy, will not bother you and then added I'll talk to you another time....
The next morn I saw his name on and was sending him tells and he never answered. A few hours later I heard the terrible news.
I have told this story to others during the years. Those that being smart mouthed, tell someone to go "shoot yourself" or take anyone threatening to take their own life, not seriously. After they hear it their attitude changes immediately..I have heard quite a few publically apologize and say they didn't mean it. Once it's done you can't apologize.

May Sharron continue to soar in Heaven. and to Jesse I'm sorry I didn't take the time to talk : ( I pray the children are doing good and are in good hands God Bless them

There had to have been many, many things bothering him to take such a drastic step. Do not blame yourself, or think that maybe you could have stopped him. He needed a lot more help than you, I or anybody else on line were capable of giving him though we all have wishes that we could have done something more to help. Cherish the you did get to spend with him and keep praying for the children. Certainly Sharron is watching over them. They are the future.

I was reading The Talisman by Steven King and Peter Straub for the fifth time the other day (I put years inbetween reads though, fear not an odd obsessive/compulsive quirk), and one of the lines was "God pounds his nails", regarding the death of a being. I'm not exactly sure what they meant by the sentence, but I put this meaning on it - We're all used for the construction of God's great works, and sometimes the plans are mysterious indeed.

As for myself, when the period of time which my journal entry - Ascension of Ensaneti - references, was the present, not the misty past, Shaman, my beloved monster (so he has become to me), told me verbatim "Make sure you cut across, hun." God's plan for me didn't include slicing and dicing, but it did include Balor without his Mercly ediface. An angel, in fact. Who'd a thunk it? God. And me. *blows a kiss to her beloved husband*

The point? God pounds his nails - at the time of his chosing. So if you reach out and help somebody, its as it should be. If you think you coulda, shoulda, woulda done more if only you'd known - its still as it should be. Believe it.

I was POY then, and living in Texas. What I understood back then was that Sharron's husband took her life then his. They both role-played in Yserbius.

I started reading this tread and became, as usual, totally confused...my semi-constant state when on TSN/INN...thinking this event was recent, that they had been killed in some terrible accident. But now I remember a dreadful time, typing for hours, trying to calm some painfully frightened and confused people...many of whom were teens whose RW realities consisted of "my dog ate my homework" and "will X invite me to Y." There was a dreadfully dark undercurrent that flowed beneath the surface of the lives of so many who were online. Their laughter tried to hide the pain as they desperately sought a happier existance in the fairytale world that was Yserbius. I often thought of that family and wondered how the children were. Does anyone have news of them and if this fund is current?
