Slo,
Regarding screen captures, what format (jpg,bmp) would ya like them?

Tar,
I guess you'll have databases of, race/class "starting" stats, creatures, weapons, etc. What format would you like them in? You prolly can talk me into building the databases.

Please direct me into the information area's you want first. Unless you guys have another idea, this is my plan of attack...

The probability to hit and how damage is dealt might be tricky.
Your a Dwarven Barbarian fighting with a Short Sword. You have a 10 Strength , 10 Agility and a 10 Dexterity.
Everything underlined will determine if you can hit and the damage dealt. But before ya can calculate that you need this...
Your fighting a Goblin who wears a Leather shirt, Leather cap and has a Oblong Shield. His Defense is a 10 and his Dexterity is also a 10.
It would be alot of work to figure out the formula used in Yserb.

Yes I feel we should have a database of everything, I don’t have time right now myself to set this up so if you have a format in mind go for it… otherwise. The screenshots need to be saved in .png format
Do you have photoshop?
1. As for stats to hit and damage we will have to study the dungeons and dragons roleplay info.
2. Each char has certain stats,, armor and weapons modify those chances to hit and defend up or down each item we program in will have certain stats that when applied to a base model char will influence his ability to hit up or down… that is the way I see it needs to be done at least to start.
3. The code of the game needs to use the same method as the die in D&D 20 sided 12 sided etc etc
4. Then we need to level the chars also… casters will suffer in a certain area while being stronger in another. I remember back in YS how everybody was a knight. Sierra did very little character leveling all they had was a fancy title. I think if we do it we should make sure they are leveled while trying to keep the original concept in mind. There should be something worth making a person want to be a different class..
5. By all means log anything and everything.
6. It is really to bad we cant decompile the code enough to figure out the stats and such for each mob. We could really use the formula for random spawns to.
7. We should have the ability in a control console to be able to turn the spawn up or down and be able to do it in any room. As well as the ability to make combat harder or easier from a control without having to recode it all.
8. Then of course if you remember right folks were always calling a SYSOP because of other individuals and such so we need the ability to have this. That is far off though,
9. first we and I am sure Tar qill agree will need a fully functional shell one that lets us log in go to tavern go to cano and go through every room all the way to the bottom or last room, we don’t populate it with mobs to begin with or worry about quest. We just want to be able to travel through out fully. Once we get the shell working then we would go to working on internal mechanics.
